The AI learns by practicing in a make-believe world. It can try a task a million times there. When the creators think the AI is good at it in this pretend world, they let it try in the real world.

This is how Phoenix, the robot, has trained for about 20 different jobs. The CEO, Mr. Rose, thinks this is a good way for robots to learn. They can become skilled at specific tasks that businesses need help with. Teaching a robot to do household chores is a bigger challenge for the future.
